The company was founded in the 1940´s by Gunnar Fröjel in Stockholm Sweden. He was a cellist that had difficulties finding good strings during the second world war and therefore started to make his own strings. A patent that changed the business of strings was early taken world wide. In 1981 Gunnar´s son Urban Fröjel took over the company and he industrialised the company further during the years to come and introduced new strings. In 2015 the company moved to its third generation of owners. The Prim Strings have a wide variety of strings for violin, viola, cello and nyckelharpa.
