Pirastro Eudoxa strings have a natural gut core.
Sound is defined as moderate well-balanced projection, worm and smooth.
Ideal for orchestra and chamber music. 
Available in 4/4 size.

Strings on this page are for E-strings only. Please check specific pages for other single strings and SETS.

  • D- and G-strings have a knot-end, A-strings have a ball-end, while E- strings have a ball-end or loop-end.
  • The Standard medium set contains the following strings:
    • E-aluminum on steel core (ball or loop), A-aluminum 13 3/4 PM, D-Aluminum 16 3/4 PM and G-silver 15 3/4 PM*.
    • The E-steel set contains the standard medium set with altered E-steel for more brilliant sound.
  • Variations are:
    • E-aluminum/steel comes in medium and strong gauge.
    • A-strings, D-strings and G-strings have up to 5 stages of different gauges that you can choose individually on separate pages. 

    • For darker and more powerful D- and G-strings, there is a "Stiff" alteration sold individually.

*Pirastro gut string tensions are measured in units of PM (Pirastro Measurement) and refer to the diameter of the string. 1 PM = 0.05 mm, so gauge 14 PM = 0.7 mm diameter. The tension of the string varies by 3% for each gauge.
