Jargar Classic Violin strings have a single flexible steel core.

Sound is defined as very bright and smooth, with a robust response.

  • All strings have a ball-end.
  • There are 3 standard sets, Medium, Light (Dolce) and Heavy (Forte) containing the variations of the following strings, (respectively in tensions): E-steel, A-, D- and G-Chrome-steel/steel.
  • Alternative Set comes with G-Silver/Steel, for warmer and more complex tone in 2 tensions, Medium and Heavy (Forte).

Available in 4/4 size.

Strings are sold in sets or individually.

Hand-made in Denmark.

In 1956, Jarl Hansen, Royal Danish Opera Orchestra cellist, developed a steel core based string, wound with thin threads of pure or alloyed metal. He started his own company, Jargar Strings, the very same year. These new strings had a warm and brilliant tone and furthermore much greater stability, durability, and strength than gut strings. That made handmade Jargar's highly popular throughout the classical music world.
