In 1919 luthier Dr. Franz Thomastik and engineer Otto Infeld made a revolution with the first ever replacement for gut strings, with steel core. Being innovative and following musicians needs, in 1970 yet a new revolution was made with introduction of Dominant violin strings, with perlon nylon, first ever synthetic core. These models are still a measuring mark-up for every other produced string on the market.
